Digital Exeter at the Apple Store – Video Content For Business Event

Getting creative with video and new technology at Exeter’s Apple Store

Digital Exeter March meet-up
Jason Purvis from AB Motion talking at the Video for Business Event at Apple Princesshay

Our special event in conjunction with the Exeter Apple Store went down a storm last Thursday.

We brought together 50 attendees from the community to engage with all things video, which included talks from the experts and creative workshops using Apple technology and products.

The evening opened with a thought-provoking talk from Jason Purvis, Producer and Director at Film Production Company AB Motion in Exeter. His talk focused on how to get video content right – by understanding that a creative, compelling idea needs to be considered before a video is produced. He also highlighted that you should absolutely consider developing a digital strategy to promote your new video content after it has been produced. Many brands produce a stunning video but it sits within their YouTube channel and on their website, only achieving a few views. Be clever with your digital targeting and reach your target audience in new, innovative ways through video marketing channels.

The Apple Store played a fantastic host for our video content in business event and brought together Exeter’s digital community.

Workshops throughout the evening included:

App workshop: Best apps for creating video content, and how to use them

iPhone & Mac Accessories: Clever accessories available to make capturing video and sound more effective

Video Clinic: Bring your video content along, and have it assessed and reviewed by Jason from AB Motion

Closing Speaker: Andy Leonard-Myers – What to consider when using drones for video content

The evening concluded with an interesting talk from Drone expert Andy Leonard-Myers on how you should be operating a drone commercially. He brought along a drone simulator and the Apple Store provided opportunities to fly their own drones around the store – a lot of fun!

This event was run in conjunction with the Exeter Apple Store, where the team have been working hard to strengthen their relationship with the local community. We’re very pleased and thankful to be building a longterm relationship with Apple to run similar events to this one throughout the year and offer the Exeter community an opportunity to learn and get interactive with new technology.
